Abstract From the Canadian patent

FORM 24, (ss.2I,3I,34 and I42), ABSTRACT "The "PURIFIED ICE-WATER DISPENSER" attaches to the kitchen sink taps. The tap water is directed to a valve at the base of a newly designed spout which ajusts to allow the water flow to either run through a water filter (which is not part of this invention) or through the spout directly into the sink. When the water is directed through the water filter it fills a pre-cooled water reservoir where it remains until the opening of a second spout located at the lowest point of the reservoir. The reservoir is cooled electrictly with a thermostat."

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 1, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 1, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 1, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
