A method for purifying and recovering, biologically active somatotropin monomers from refold solution following the solubilization and naturation of refractile bodies of host cells produced by recombinant DNA methodology. The purification process is based on the discovery that somatotropin monomers and somatotropin oligomers having overlapping isoelectric points may nevertheless be separated by selective precipitation over a narrow pH range. Host cell residues including proteins, pyrogens and other impurities present in the refold solution are effective removed in the process. The purified somatotropin monomers recovered from solution after removing precipitated solids are suitable for …

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 27, 1991 and granted September 22, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 27, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 27, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
