Abstract From the Canadian patent

In a method for sensorless control of a reluctance motor the actual magnetic flux is compared with tabulated values of the non-linear function between the magnetic flux and the current for the angular position at which a commutation signal (via P15-P18) is to be emitted to the power stages (1-4) for the stator pole windings (H10-H13) of the motor. The actual value of the magnetic flux is calculated for each sample interval, based on the sampled values of voltage (u via P7) and current (i via P8) according to the relation .DELTA.? = (u-R.i).DELTA.t where R is the, resistance of the actual pole winding and the actual power stage. The instantaneous flux value .DELTA.? received is added to the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 20, 1990 and granted March 12, 1996. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 20, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 20, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
