Abstract From the Canadian patent

In a process for plating or etching metalization patterns on the surface of a three dimensional substrate a flexible plastic, mask is fabricated by first coating the surface of a thin plastic sheet with vacuum formable ink. The mask is then molded into the shape of the surface into which the pattern is to be formed. A low power YAG laser is used to remove areas of the ink through which light is to be allowed to pass. Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 21, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 21, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 21, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
