Skeletal railing systems are usually formed of metal tubing welded together and/or interconnected by metal Tconnectors, cross connectors and elbows. The assembling of such railing systems is often time consuming and expensive. A simple alternative includes tubular plastic preferably, polyvinyl chloride posts and rails interconnected by short lengths of metal tubing which extend through openings in the plastic tubes for coupling with other metal tube sections inside the plastic tubes. A bolt perpendicular to one section of metal tubing extends into a plate or plug on the end of the other section of metal tubing, and a nut is tightened onto the bolt to hold the sections together.

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 19, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 19, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 19, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
