Regarding the horticultural science of plant-growth stimulation, an electronic device can be connected between the rooting medium and a stem of a plant to control its development. Flora development may be either augmented or diminished by selecting the proper polarity of the probe connections. An electric potential produced between the plant's roots and the adjacent rooting medium assists the plant in the electrolyzing and assimilation of nutrients. This electrical assistance helps plants to thrive in poorer soil, lighting, and growing conditions than normally possible.

Why it's free to use
- Filed January 17, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 17, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 17, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
