RD-19,851, METHOD FOR SHAPING, FILAMENT REINFORCED ANNULAR OBJECTS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE, A method for controlling the dimension of a reinforced metal matrix composite structure is taught. The structure is annular and the control and dimension is to render the structure truly or fully round where the initial structure is out-of-round. The cure of the out-of-round condition is accomplished by forming a solid mandril very slightly smaller in dimensions than the final dimensions sought for the structure. The out-of-round composite ring is forced onto the mandril and heated to the relaxation temperature of the matrix. Because the mandril has a higher thermal coefficient of expansion than …

Why it's free to use
- Filed January 17, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 17, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 17, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
