Abstract From the Canadian patent

A D.C. modulated phase locked oscillator or electrical device, is, provided; and a radio frequency receiver or signal processing apparatus, is provided that utilizes the D.C. modulated phase locked oscillator. The D.C. modulated phase locked oscillator includes a phase locking oscillator and a D.C. modulator. Both a forward path and a feedback path are D.C. modulated. D.C. modulation of the feedback path optionally includes changing the frequency in the feedback path as a function of the: frequency of a modulation oscillator, changing the frequency in the feedback path by a plurality of pulses for each cycle of the modulation oscillator, removing pulses from the feedback path adding pulses …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 9, 1991 and granted September 29, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 9, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 9, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
