An adjustable ice creeper for a shoe is described herein. The device is secured to the underside of a shoe sole, in the arch just in front of the heel. The device is held in place by a clamp means between the body of the shoe and the sole. There are also small spikes that pierce and are embedded in the side of the sole, when the device is clamped to a shoe. The device has an adjustable pin projecting from the bottom. The pin is moved into the device when not needed. The pin provides support for a user on slippery surfaces when projecting from the device.

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 28, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 28, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 28, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
