Abstract From the Canadian patent

A water closet is held to the floor by internally positioned tie rods. The closet has an upper and a lower rim through which are provided vertically aligned channels to receive the tie rods. The the rods are made in sections so as to be easily aligned blindly within the shroud of the closet and tightened to hold the latter on the floor.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 24, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 24, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 24, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
