Abstract From the Canadian patent

Metal electrodes provided with a coating consisting essentially of a mixed oxide compound of (i) a compound of the general formula ABO4, having a structure of the rutile-type, where A is an element in the trivalent state selected from the group consisting of Al Rh and Cr, and B is, an element in the pentavalent state selected from the group consisting of Sb and Ta, (ii) RuO2 and (iii) TiO2; wherein the mole fraction of ABO4 is between 0.01 and 0.42 the mole, fraction of RuO2 is between 0.03 and 0.42 and the mole, fraction of TiO2 is between 0.55 and 0.96. The electrodes have low precious metal content, provide improved durability and improved current efficiency-anodic overvoltage …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 22, 1990 and granted June 29, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 22, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 22, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
