An extension passage for extending a label tape is horizontally provided, and a recessed label tape storage which is open at its upper side is provided for storing a roll of label tape at one end of this extension passage, a platen roller which is driven and rotated by an electric circuit is provided at the other end of the extension passage and a detector for detecting a position of a label on the label tape is provided at a middle position of the extension passage.
