Abstract From the Canadian patent

A carbonator unit for a post-mix beverage dispenser having a carbonator tank (10) immersed in a liquid flotation tank (14). The carbonator tank floats up and down with changes in the amount of water and head space in the carbonator tank to actuate a switch device (34) mounted externally of the carbonator tank. Actuation of the switch causes a water pump (28) to become operative to supply uncarbonated water to the carbonator tank. When the volume of carbonated water increases to a predetermined amount the, carbonator tank sinks to deactivate the switch.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 26, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 26, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 26, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
