Abstract From the Canadian patent

There is disclosed herein a bag which is constructed to form a primary loading compartment and an auxiliary load-carrying or promotional-itemcarrying pocket. The bag includes front back, side, and bottom panels and a compartment forming partition panel. The partition panel is secured to the front panel so as to define primary and auxiliary load-carrying compartments. The auxiliary compartment is formed by the front panel and partition panel. The front panel may be apertured and overlaid with a transparent film so as to form a window. The partition is adhered to the front panel so as to form a pocket in which the contents are positioned for viewing through the window.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 9, 1990 and granted January 20, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 9, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 9, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
