Abstract From the Canadian patent

RCA 85,616, Abstract of the Disclosure A multimode comb filter for comb filtering e.g. NTSC, and/or PAL video signals includes delay means for concurrently providing video signals representing three adjacent horizontal lines. First and second combining means coupled to the delay means provide alternate l-H comb filtered signals in both the NTSC and PAL modes. Control circuitry coupled to the delay means generates a control signal for adaptively selecting the one of the alternate l-H comb filtered signals or appropriate proportions of both alternate l-H comb filtered signals to form an output comb filtered signal.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 8, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 8, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 8, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
