Abstract From the Canadian patent

Aromatic conversion processes and catalysts useful therein and their preparation including alkylation and transalkylation processes involving alkylation of an aromatic substrate with a C2-C4 alkylating agent with recovery of a monoalkylated aromatic product and liquid phase transalkylation of a polyalkylated product. Specifically, a benzene feedstock is supplied to an alkylation zone operated under liquid or vapor phase conditions with the output supplied to the transalkylation zone operated under lower temperature liquid phase conditions. In aromatic conversion processes over molecular sieve catalysts such as zeolite Y or beta under liquid phase conditions an aro-, matic feedstock …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 30, 1990 and granted May 14, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 30, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 30, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
