Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method of adapting a pump having multiple co-planar reciprocating pistons disposed in cylinders radially spaced around a central shaft having a cam and operating linkages between the cam and each of the radially disposed pistons to, discharge liquids at pressures exceeding 20,000 pounds per square inch. The method consists of the step of providing a cam having three distinct contour sections. A first section is shaped so as to cause the piston to compress the fluid in its cylinder to a pre-selected discharge pressure thereby permitting the piston to begin discharge of fluid simultaneously with the completion of the discharge stroke of the radially adjacent piston. A second section is …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 30, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 30, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 30, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
