A scavengeless/non-interactive development system for use in highlight color imaging. To control the developability of lines and the degree of interaction between the toner and receiver the combination of, an AC voltage on a developer donor roll with an AC voltage between toner cloud forming wires and donor roll enables efficient detachment of toner from the donor to form a toner cloud and position one end of the cloud in close proximity to the image receiver for optimum development of lines and solid areas without scavenging a previously toned image.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 29, 1990 and granted February 23, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 29, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 29, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
