An oil separator for an air-cooled refrigeration system employing a screw compressor includes a U-shaped housing the bottom of which defines an oil sump and the upstanding leg portions of which are connected by flow splitting apparatus. The flow splitting apparatus divides and tangentially delivers portions of a mixture of compressed refrigerant gas received from the compressor, and in which oil is entrained into the, upper region of each leg portion. Why it's free to use
- Filed October 2, 1990 and granted November 15, 1994. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 2, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 2, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
