A condom (2) is packed in an envelope (1) in rolled-up state. When it is to be used the envelope (1) is broken into two parts (3 and 4), after which the condom is rolled on with the aid of the fingers. This is sometimes troublesome. Two tapes (5 and 6) are located diametrically opposite each other and attached to the open edge (11) of the condom (2). The other ends (7 and 8) of the tapes are attached to the envelope (1) so that when the envelope (1) is opened they will be attached one in each part (3 and 4 respectively) of the envelope. When the condom is to be used the user, grips the two ends (7 and 8) with his fingers and pulls thus, effectively applying the condom (2).

Why it's free to use
- Filed January 11, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 11, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 11, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
