Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention provides a pipe joint and a pipe with the pipe joint. The pipe joint has a coupling element of the male and the female parts, and a contact surface wherein the male and the female parts are contacted. Adjacent to the contact surface a groove which contains an O ring is provided wherein the O ring deforms regularly under hydraulic pressure by the effect of the contact surface which leads to the enhancement of the sealing capacity of the joint. The groove of the joint may be provided on one of the male and the female joints. The material may be metal, plastic, and fiber reinforced plastic. A pipe with the pipe joint can be applicable to the purpose of the invention.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 10, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 10, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 10, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
