Abstract of the Invention A rotary broom assembly utilizes a metallic bristle receiving base provided with a plurality of holes therethrough. A plurality of thermoplastic bristles are inserted through the holes with the inserted ends of the bristles heated to a softened state and then impacted, so that the softened thermoplastic flows and forms a retaining button on the underside of the base member and a flange on the upperside of the base member to provide an anchor for the tuft when the end portion resolidifies.

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 9, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 9, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 9, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
