Abstract From the Canadian patent

For a recovery of elementary sulfur from sulfide materials which contain thermally releasable sulfur, the sulfidic material is charged to the top portion of a fluidized bed reactor of a circulating fluidized bed system. Oxygen-containing gases and SO2-containing, recirculated gas are fed to the bottom portion of the fluidized bed reactor and the oxygen rate is so controlled that it is sufficient to oxidize the iron content of the sulfidic materials and to meet the heat demand of the process in that a part of the sulfur which is supplied is oxidized to SO2. In the intermediate zone of the fluidized bed reactor, elementary sulfur is formed from sulfide sulfur and SO2 under reducing …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 26, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 26, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 26, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
