Abstract From the Canadian patent

An apparatus in which an electrostatic latent image recorded on a photoconductive member is developed with toner. A magnetic roll cooperates with a donor roll to define a nip therebetween. The magnetic roll advances a developer material comprising carrier and toner to the nip where a substantially constant amount of toner having a substantially constant triboelectric charge is deposited on the donor roll. A plurality of electrode wires are positioned in the space between the donor roll and the photoconductive member. The electrodes are electrically biased to detach the toner from the donor roll so as to form a toner cloud in the space between the electrodes and photoconductive member. …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 24, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 24, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 24, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
