Abstract From the Canadian patent

A structural coupling for joining projecting wall structures to a building. The coupling consists of an insulation body of a thermally insulating material and elongated metallic reinforcing elements which pass through said insulation body substantially transversely thereto, which protrude laterally on both sides therefrom and are coated against corrosion or formed of corrosion resistant material. In order to improve the corrosion resistance of the coupling, an elastic or resilient protective layer is provided to enclose at least a part of the metallic reinforcing elements in the transition regions between the insulation body and the adjoining building or wall structures. -19-

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 12, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 12, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 12, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
