Abstract From the Canadian patent

Sound attenuating resonators or mufflers for dealing with various noise frequencies may occupy a large volume in a vehicle engine compartment. A simple, compact resonator for performing the same function includes a generally cylindrical resilient, tubular, plastic body with closed ends an inlet in, one end for connecting the device to an engine air inlet tube and a bellows-type side wall integral with the end walls for expanding and contracting to change the volume of the resonator with changing engine speeds.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 24, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 24, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 24, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
