Abstract From the Canadian patent

In a multiprocessor system comprising a plurality of processors and a main memory common to the processors, each processor comprises at least one vector calculation unit which is specific to a vector calculation and which is independent of the vector calculation units in the other processors. A register holds a configuration signal representative of configuration of the vector calculation units in each processor. An access control unit controls access operations of the processors on the basis of the configuration signals in the processors to make the processors selectively access the main memory. Thus the processors individually carry out the vector calculations to individually access the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 13, 1990 and granted October 25, 1994. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 13, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 13, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
