Abstract From the Canadian patent

Abstract of the Disclosure, A vehicle engine fuel control adapted for multi-fuel operation uses a fuel injection system in which fuel in a liquid mixture of first and second combustible fuels is injected in pulses of controlled duration at a predetermined pressure to achieve a predetermined air/fuel ratio. The first and second combustible fuels have different viscosities so that, the viscosity of the mixture changes with its composition as well as fuel temperature. The duration of the portion of the pulse duration in which fuel flows is varied in response to fuel composition and fuel temperature so as to compensate for the variation in viscosity of the fuel mixture and thus deliver the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 8, 1990 and granted May 17, 1994. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 8, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 8, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
