The clipping circuit has a voltage reference stage and a transconductance stage connected to a voltage input. The input is connected through the transconductance stage to an output resistor. The voltage output is taken between the output resistor and the transconductance stage output. The voltage reference stage has a third current source feeding a diode connected transistor and a resistor. A second current source feeds into the resistor after the transistor. The base of the diode connected transistor is connected to the voltage input. The transconductance stage has a second transistor whose base is connected to the voltage input, collector sinks current from a fourth current source and …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 22, 1990 and granted January 12, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 22, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 22, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
