Abstract From the Canadian patent

A structure and method for producing mask-configured integrated circuits which are pin compatible substitutes for userconfigured logic arrays is disclosed. Mask-defined routing lines having resistive/capacitive characteristics simulating those of user-configurable routing paths in the user-configurable logic array are used in the mask-defined substitutes to replace the user-configurable routing paths. Scan testing networks are formed in the metal-configured substitutes to test the operability of logical function blocks formed on such chips. The scan testing networks comprise a plurality of test blocks each including three field effect pass transistors formed of four adjacent diffusion …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 14, 1990 and granted August 9, 1994. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 14, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 14, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
