The present invention is directed to a dentifrice composition containing a bactericide selected from the group consisting of biguanido bactericides and N-alkyldiaminoethylglycine, a polyoxyethylenepolyoxypropylene block copolymer surfactant and an N-higher acylamino acid or its salt. The dentifrice composition maintains the stability of the bactericidal activities of the bactericide added and, hence, is effective in the inhibition of the formation of dental plaque and the prevention of gingivitis.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 17, 1990 and granted July 31, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 17, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 17, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
