Abstract From the Canadian patent

Abstract of the Disclosure, First circuitry on an integrated circuit chip has an input terminal, preferably the only input terminal for, receiving a voltage pulse introduced to a first terminal on the chip. The first circuitry damps the negative voltage peaks of the voltage pulse at a voltage of a first magnitude inherent in the construction of the first circuitry. A pair of input transistors in the first circuitry have dimensions to provide at the input terminal to second circuitry a clamping voltage of, a first magnitude at a certain fraction of the power supply voltage. The first circuitry may include a closed loop servo amplifier which regulates the negative peaks of the pulse at the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 30, 1990 and granted December 21, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 30, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 30, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
