A laminated insulating material of the type utilizing at least two layers of insulation medium and includes a third layer of closed cell plastic interposed between each insulation layer. The air space created within the closed cells absorbs otherwise escaping thermal energy thereby reducing the amount of kinetic energy escaping out of the insulated environment. The third insulation layer serves as a secondary barrier to absorb residual thermal energy passing through the plastic layer. The arrangement of the laminated material increases the efficiency of the insulation as a thermal barrier thereby allowing it to operate more effectively in comparison to other known insulating materials. Why it's free to use
- Filed March 13, 1990 and granted June 29, 1993. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 13, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 13, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
