In an apparatus for stripping material from an object for example for removing asbestos from a length of pipe an enclosure means having a closable opening for receiving the object has an outlet means 7 which may lead to a, neck portion 8, and through which stripped material can be removed from the enclosure. The outlet means 7 has a periphery smaller than the periphery of that part of the enclosure immediately above it. The enclosure enables materials such as linings or lagging to be stripped from substantial areas, without the enclosure being filled.

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 27, 1990 and granted April 4, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 27, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 27, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
