A circuit arrangement reduces the time necessary for a voltage-to-frequency converter to provide a new output frequency in response to a change in input voltage levels. A current source provides additional input current to the input integrating node of the v/f before a conversion is requested. When a conversion is requested, the additional input current effectively provides operation of the v/f at an increased frequency, thus speeding the settling process therefor. When the integrator of the v/f is at a predetermined voltage level in a predetermined operating cycle the, current source is removed, thus terminating the increased frequency of operation.

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 22, 1990 and granted August 17, 1993. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 22, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 22, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
