Process for the preparation of a random propylene copolymer, Copolymerization of propylene with small amounts of other olefins in the presence of a catalyst composed of a metallocene of the formula I, and an aluminoxane gives a copolymer in high yield. This copolymer has a homogeneous composition and the sequence length of the comonomer blocks is below 1.25. The molecular weight is in the range of about 100000 to 360000 g/mole, the polydispersity M w/M n is in the range, from 2.5 to 5.5. The copolymer has a low crystallinity and a high transparency and is not tacky. Test specimens of this copolymer have an enormous tensile strength. The copolymer is particularly suitable for the …

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 14, 1990 and granted June 13, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 14, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 14, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
