A method and structure for providing radio-opaque polymer compounds for use in metal bonding and sealing. A powder filler comprising a high atomic number metal or compound thereof is incorporated into a polymer compound to render it more radio-opaque than the surrounding metal structures. Voids or other discontinuities in the radioopaque polymer compound can then be detected by x-ray inspection or other non-destructive radiographic procedure.

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 9, 1990 and granted December 14, 1993. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 9, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 9, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
