The color and color stability of a color unstable hydrocarbon fraction is improved by contacting the hydrocarbon fraction with a selective hydrogenation catalyst in the presence of hydrogen, at reaction conditions substantially all of, which is dissolved in the hydrocarbon fraction selected to result in the selective, hydrogenation of conjugated unsaturates thereby improving the color and, color stability of the hydrocarbon fraction.

Why it's free to use
- Filed January 29, 1990 and granted June 10, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 29, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 29, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
