The present invention is a liquefaction process for atmospheric gases. In the process, one or more atmospheric gas streams (e.g. air nitrogen, etc.) are compressed in a compression zone to provide both an intermediate stream and a high pressure stream. The high pressure stream is then cooled and at least a portion of it is expanded to provide refrigeration. The remaining high pressure stream is then further cooled and expanded whereby it is partially liquefied and separated into a vapor stream and a liquid atmospheric gas product stream. Why it's free to use
- Filed January 10, 1990 and granted July 21, 1992. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 10, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 10, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
