Abstract From the Canadian patent

A device for moistening tape is disclosed. The tape is moistened by a roller having a resilient sorbent felt, material on its surface. The surface of the roller is wetted by capillary action as well as by the rotation of the roller in the reservoir. The roller is driven by a conveyor that engages the surface of the roller and advances tape between the roller and the conveyor as the roller rotates.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 14, 1989. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 14, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 14, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
