Abstract From the Canadian patent

A heterodyne stage of a receiver which includes a conventional mixer circuit and local oscillator circuit further includes a differential amplifier circuit which measures the amplitude of the injection signal generated by the local oscillator circuit and controls it precisely to a desired reference level by adjusting the current bias supply to the local oscillator circuit within a banded range to ensure start-up of the local oscillator upon energization and to protect against loss of injection signal under all operating conditions. The differential amplifier circuit provides for a precise amplitude reference setting and sufficient closed-loop gain for controlling the amplitude of the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 30, 1989 and granted November 16, 1993. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 30, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 30, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
