Aromatics are produced from a feedstock comprising C2-C5 olefins by the steps of: (1) passing a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising C2-C5 olefins into a hydrogenation reaction zone in the presence of a hydrogen and a hydrogenation catalyst to produce a hydrogenation reaction zone product stream substantially reduced in olefin content; and (2) passing the hydrogenation reaction zone product into a dehydrocyclodimerization reaction zone containing a dehydrocyclodimerization catalyst at conditions whereby a dehydrocyclodimerization reaction zone product comprising aromatics is produced.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 27, 1989 and granted May 28, 1996. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 27, 2009.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 27, 2011.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
