Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention provides vectors for the efficient and position-specific integration of expressible exogenous nucleotide sequences into cellular genomes. This invention takes advantage of the discovery of a positionspecific endonuclease and position-specific insertion markers for the design of said vectors. In addition a, gene comprising a recombinant nucleic acid molecule encoding a polypeptide possessing the biological activity of a position-specific endonuclease, wherein the biological activity of said endonuclease is the catalysis of positionspecific insertion of genetic material carried between the position-specific integration markers, is disclosed UCALFO8A.PCT, 110889, -37-

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 23, 1989. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 23, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 23, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
