Abstract From the Canadian patent

Abstract of the Disclosure A power pole is constructed so that a U-shaped body portion forming a power conductor channel extends beyond a similarly shaped portion forming a communications conductor channel by a predetermined distance. A cover plate and a top plate are provided to close this extending portion to form a wiring chamber. Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 22, 1989 and granted August 17, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 22, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 22, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
