Abstract From the Canadian patent

A vehicle tire in which a fluid having a specific gravity greater than that of air is charged together with pressurized air into an airtight inside of a tire at a ratio within a range from 5 to 95% by volume of the pressurized air converted as a volume under a normal pressure. The braking distance can be shortened, as well as the running stability can be improved remarkably by the incorporation of the fluid into the tire. The fluid charged in the tire is preferably water or hydro-spheres formed by mixing water and a highly water absorbing polymer. The inner surface of the tire preferably has radial undulations.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 17, 1989 and granted February 8, 1994. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 17, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 17, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
