Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method of treating human blood-clotting factor product to reduce the infectivity of a virus such as, hepatitis- or AIDS-causing virus or cytomegalovirus if, present. The method comprises the steps of lyophilizing the product or obtaining the product prelyophilized and then heating the product, while it is lyophilized or prelyophilized, for and at a plurality of different time-andtemperature combinations, and then reconstituting the product.
