Abstract From the Canadian patent

An article of clothing commonly referred to as a mitt is known to be a covering for the hand and wrist having a separate section for the thumb only. Mitts generally come in pairs left and right hand, and are worn by individuals to provide protection. In this invention, a covering for a couple holding hands has been developed. The design provides a covering that permits a couple to insert and join their hands through separate openings. The purpose of this design is to allow a couple to experience direct hand contact when holding hands while participating in an activity like skating or walking.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 27, 1989. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 27, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 27, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
