Abstract From the Canadian patent

A topical ointment for the local treatment of dermatoses in particular psoriasis, contains from 10 to 50% by weight of vesline, 10 to 50% by weight of jojoba oil 1 to 10% by weight of, cholesterol, 1 to 10% by weight of beeswax or spermaceti or spermaceti substitute, and 10 to 40% by weight of water. The surprisingly good therapeutic results when using an ointment of this composition are due primarily to the pharmaceutical efficacy of the cholesterol. Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 30, 1989. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 30, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 30, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
