F. Abstract:, "Remote-controlled receiver with resupply of energy to battery." In a receiver for use in a remote-control system in which messages are radio-transmitted by means of infrared light the receiving, photodiode circuit is of the forward-biased type and is connected in the forward direction between ground and a voltage which is lower than the knee voltage of the photodiode circuit. As a result a photocurrent, IpO is supplied by the photodiode circuit itself. The low-frequency component of this photocurrent can now be utilized as a charge current for a rechargeable battery. Its lifetime will thus be considerably longer.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 27, 1989. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 27, 2009.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 27, 2011.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
