Abstract From the Canadian patent

Vocal clothing includes a pocket in which a speech module is removably contained. A switch for activating the module is located directly behind a logo. When one wishes to hear the vocal message programmed into the speech module one presses the logo, which causes the switch to be depressed, which activates the speech module. Once activated, the speech module plays for a predetermined period of time. -13-, 18064/88001/1-1-1/32

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 25, 1989. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 25, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 25, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
